Area Rules

The pool area is that portion of the Club grounds surrounding the swimming pool and wading pool that is fenced in.  Any rules or procedures, mentioned or not, are implemented by the Club Manager and supported by the Board of Trustees.  The Club Manager shall have the right to eject or refuse admission to any member or guest whose presence in his/her judgment would be detrimental to the membership or to club property.

General Swimming Area
  1. All persons using the pool do so at their own risk.
  2. All persons should shower before entering the pool.
  3. No food or cigarettes are permitted within three feet of the pool
  4. Diving masks, suntan lotion bottles and similar articles must be of plastic or other nonbreakable material.
  5. No running.
  6. No coins are allowed in the pool
  7. All children under nine years of age and those under 10 years of age who have not passed a swim and club rules test must be accompanied by a person who is at least 13 years of age.  This person is responsible for the behavior and safety of the child.   Lifeguards and other employees are not baby-sitters.  Ultimate responsibility rests with the parents.
  8. All children who are not toilet trained must wear diaper, plastic pants with snug fitting legs, and a swimsuit.
  9. The pool and pool area shall be open during the posted hours.  The Club Manager at his/her discretion may extend pool hours and may close the pool for maintenance, health reasons, adverse weather conditions or any other reason he/she deems necessary.
  10. The Club Manager or lifeguard can refuse admission or expel from the water anyone with skin abrasions, bandages, infections, inflamed eyes, cough, or colds.  This rule may be waived by the Club Manager upon presentation of a doctor’s certificate that the person’s condition is neither contagious, dangerous nor injurious to that person or to others.
  11. Everyone except employees shall leave the facility within five minutes after the pool closes.
Diving Board
  1. One person on the board at a time.
  2. One bounce.
  3. No running.
  4. No back dives, back flips, inward gainers, etc.
  5. Must not wear goggles, flotation devices, or any other such matter.
  6. Must jump straight out from the board.
  7. Must swim immediately to the ladder.
  8. Must not go directly into swim area.
  9. Must not enter diving area from swim area.
  10. The next diver must wait until the previous diver has touched the ladder before he/she can go.
  11. No catching balls thrown from the side.
  12. The diving area may be closed, at the discretion of the lifeguards, for open swim.  No one is permitted to go off the boards at this time.
  13. Children who cannot swim one lap of the pool may not swim in the diving area unless accompanied by an adult.
Entering the Pool
  1. Swimmers must dive straight out in designated diving areas or jump in feet first.
  2. Swimmers cannot twist, jump in backwards, do cannonballs, fan backs, or run and jump and dive.
  3. Swimmers must not jump or dive in toward or at anyone.
Swim Lane
  1. The swim lane is for swimming laps only.  Swimmers must swim on the right side of the lane when it is occupied by more than one swimmer.
  2. Do not hang on the lane line.
  3. No one is permitted to enter or leave the pool by going through the lane.
Floatation Devices
  1. Regular-size rafts may be used except when the pool is crowded.  This decision will be made by the Club Manager, Assistant Manager, or the guards in charge.
  2. NO RAFTS or NOODLES of any kind are permitted in the baby pool, two-foot area, or deep end.  Small rings are permitted in the two-foot area.
  3. No exceptionally large rafts or solid floatation devices.
  4. Any child who must use a ring buoy or water wings must stay in the two-foot area unless accompanied by an adult.
  5. Floatation devices must be mounted in the water, not from the wall.  No jumping or diving onto a flotation device from outside the pool.
Swimming Rules
  1. Must stay off head, neck, and shoulders if dunking or playing.
  2. No chicken fights, standing on shoulders, etc.
  3. May not throw other swimmers (parents may throw children, but not flip them).
  4. May not jeopardize the safety or security of other swimmers.
Adult Swim
  1. Adult swim will occur for 15 minutes every hour starting at a quarter to the hour (e.g. 12:45 – 1:00).
  2. Children must stay three feet from the edge of the pool during adult swim.
  3. One child, five years and younger, may accompany an adult in the pool during adult swim as long as the child remains in direct contact with the adult.
  4. Children five years old and younger may use the diving board during the adult swim if the supervising adult is in position in the water to assist the child.
Wading Pool Rules
  1. All children using the wading pool must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  2. No lifeguard is on duty at the wading pool.
