Steps to Buying a Membership
Always check with the Membership InfoLine before purchasing from a buyer directly. The Club needs to verify that the seller is current in dues and that there is not a waiting list.- Call the Membership InfoLine to get on the buyer's waiting
list. If there is a waiting list, you will be asked for a
non-refundable $50 deposit. That deposit will be applied to your first
year's dues. Make a check out to Windwood Swim & Tennis Club
and mail it to:
Windwood Swim & Tennis Club
P.O. Box 8037
West Chester, Ohio 45069
- The pool membership trustee will let you know when they
have given a seller your name and number. You should then get a call
from the seller to arrange a time and place for the transfer of funds
and certificate. If you have not been contacted by the seller within 7
days, call the Membership InfoLine and leave a message.
- Transfer: You pay the seller $1,200 (plus any pro-rated
dues if buying mid pool season) for the stock.
The seller should sign over their stock certificate to you. Inspect the "Membership Certificate" to verify the signature(s) on the back are the name(s) of those listed on the front. If the seller has lost their certificate, they should have a notarized transfer document in place of the endorsed certificate. If the certificate is not appropriately signed or the transfer document is not notarized, you will have to return them to the seller for correction.
Get the tennis court key from seller. If the seller has lost it, you should get $5.00 from them for the replacement cost.
Get the pool passes from the seller if they have not turned them into the pool.
- Call Membership Records to arrange pick up of new
certificate and "Membership Package". You will need to turn in the
seller's old certificate, the seller's pool passes, and $5.00 if you
need a tennis key. Until you complete this last part of the
transaction, you will not be in the pools membership records and you
will not receive newsletters or passes.
